OUR VENUE

LABattoir

We didn’t choose this place by accident. It stands on a history that shaped us long before we ever met—a quiet thread connecting generations, stories, and roots that run deep in both our families. This venue reflects where we come from, honoring the paths our ancestors walked and the legacy they’ve passed down to us. Today, as we begin something new, we do it in a place that reminds us we’re part of something much older, something enduring, and something profoundly ours.

a small dive into the history of this place

From slaughterhouse to cultural hub:
The transformation of Thessaloniki’s Labattoir.

The old municipal slaughterhouse in Thessaloniki was built in 1896–1897 and operated until 1988, with a short closure after the 1978 earthquake. Located near the port, it was part of the city’s late 19th-century industrial growth and was declared a protected architectural monument in 1994.
Today, it has been restored and transformed into “Labattoir,” a cultural space created by the Municipality of Thessaloniki. It hosts events like concerts, exhibitions, workshops, and lectures, promoting creativity and community engagement.

A Cultural Laboratory

The old municipal slaughterhouse of Thessaloniki is a striking example of how historic industrial spaces can be transformed for contemporary cultural use.
Once central to the city’s economic life, it now stands as a hub of creativity and innovation.
